<p><strong>Sacramento, CA</strong> — Former HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, the Democratic nominee to be California’s next Governor, announced today his “no” position on Proposition 43, releasing the following statement:</p><p>&nbsp;"As we head into another fire season, communities are doing the work — clearing brush, staffing fire crews, building resilient neighborhoods,” <strong>said Sec. Xavier Becerra.</strong> “Prop 43 would hand special interests the power to block the resources our communities count on most: fire protection, safe roads, good schools. MAGA Republicans are behind this measure to give corporate interests even more power. Stand with our firefighters, teachers, and nurses and vote No on Prop 43."</p>
