LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF CALIFORNIA, CIVIL RIGHTS GROUPS ANNOUNCE OPPOSITION TO PROP 43

Sacramento, CA — With only 56 days until the general election, The League of Women Voters of California, in addition to several California-based civil rights groups and organizations, are encouraging a “no” vote on Proposition 43. 

“Prop 43 would let just over a third of voters block what two-thirds of their neighbors support, whether that is emergency services, affordable housing, or transit,” said Dora Rose, Deputy Director of the League of Women Voters of California. “Keeping the current threshold gives communities the flexibility to respond to changing needs. That is why the League of Women Voters of California opposes Prop 43.”
