Letter to the Editor: Reject Howard Jarvis Taxpayers’ hypocrisy, vote against Prop. 43

According to the Public Policy Institute of California, Proposition 13 passed with support from 65% of California voters. The last time I checked the math, that is not a two-thirds majority vote.

When a simple majority vote imposes a two-thirds or 66.67% vote, that is tyranny of the simple majority, no question about it. Why Proposition 13 passed (which I voted against) with less than a supermajority is beyond me. Therefore, I will also vote against Proposition 43 and for the “Regional Transit Measure.” Hopefully, the transit measure will pass with at least a simple majority, because our Region needs it.
